Admin Health & Lifestyle, uncategorized

Staying healthy on the go can definitely be challenging at times, especially when the majority of food to buy when out and about tends to be very processed.

When it comes to a healthy lifestyle, planning plays a key role in the process, a cupboard stocked with healthy foods can mean that reaching for unhealthy options happens on fewer occasions.

Take a look at our top list for healthy snacks below, from protein packed lunches through to refreshing fruit snacks for life on the go.

Go Nuts

Protein is an excellent addition to any meal as it allows us to feel full and much more satiated for longer, and when it comes to protein, nuts really pack a punch.

Snacks made up of assorted nuts such as almonds, walnuts and peanuts can be a great option for when you’re on the move. Avoid expensive options by buying them in bulk and storing them in sandwich bags for a healthy option when you need it most.

Yoghurt and Berries

Dairy, especially high protein options such as Greek yoghurt, can be a great option for a healthy and satiating snack.

Opt for a scoop of protein rich greek yoghurt with some berries and almond flakes for a filling, tasty meal between meals.

Apple and Peanut Butter

This snack is a staple of any healthy diet.

Peanut butter is packed with healthy fats and protein whilst the vitamin rich hit of crunchy apple is a perfect accompaniment. Sprinkle over some cinnamon for an extra hit of flavour.

Healthy Granola Bars

A great option for snacks on the go is to prepare your own granola bars! There are plenty of recipes online to try. Take a look at this one here to start your healthy snack journey!

Protein Energy Balls

Similar to healthy granola bars, these protein energy balls can be brilliant for making at home to take with you whilst out and about. Just take a scoop of your favourite protein powder and mix it with one cup of oats, a tea spoon of honey, a tea spoon of peanut butter and a tea spoon of flax seeds.

You should be able to roll the mix into balls – place them in the fridge for a few hours to firm up,  they’ll be much easier to transport this way!

If you’d like to, you can always add chocolate chips or dried fruit into the mixture too!

Sliced Fruit

Super simple and super tasty. Prepare some fruit in the morning to take with you to work as a desk snack. Preparing your fruit at home can help to save lots of money and plastic packaging, as buying fruit on the go can be an expensive and awkward task!

Dark Chocolate

Dark chocolate is packed full of magnesium and serotonin boosting ingredients! It’s also good for energy levels with its small dose of caffeine and can be good for our blood too! Enjoy a few squares as a desk snack in the afternoon.
