Exercise and Stress #betterlife

Despite the idea of introducing exercise into your daily routine not seeming like the obvious answer for coping with stress, there might be more to working out than we know.

Take a look below to discover the stress busting benefits of exercise, as well as how you can start to incorporate working out into your routine for a #betterlife ๐Ÿ’š

Endorphins, Stress and Exercise

It’s probably a well known fact by now that exercising releases a certain hormone known as serotonin, commonly associated with feelings of elation and happiness.

The brain can achieve a natural high with exercise, even just ten minutes of walking can release serotonin, whilst activities such as heading for a jog, going to the gym or practising a home workout can produce a large amount of the hormone.

Feeling lethargic?

Not to worry, exercise can often help to banish feelings of grogginess and lethargy, the usual side affects of stress.

Exercise can also be brilliant for allowing the mind to focus on the here and now, allowing the brain to switch off from the other pressures of life, focusing instead on the important aspects of working out, such as breathing and co-ordination. Studies have shown that exercise allows more focus than certain types of meditation!

Despite the benefits of exercise for stress, it is also important to remember that having a consistent routine for working out can deliver the best stress busting results.

Grab a Buddy

Grab a work out buddy! Exercising never seems as daunting when you’ve got a friend with you along the way.

Working out with a pal can also be great for motivation, as you work to spur each other on towards your goals.

Head Outdoors

Not suited to the gym? Feel trapped whenever you set foot in one? Not to worry!

There are plenty of options you can explore when it comes to exercising outside, from jogging through to outdoor gyms and group exercise classes. Find what works for you to banish your stress and boost your energy.

Set A Goal
